Smackdown! Live TV report for 10/31/2017

Introduction Segment: Video and Arena Promo

The regular Smackdown! opener plays and then we go live to the arena in Norfolk, Virginia! “Here Comes The Money” plays and out dances the Commissioner – Shane McMahon! He puts over Smackdown! as having “heart” and two great runners in himself and General Manager Daniel Bryan. He explains why a lot of the Smackdown! roster attacked Raw last week – because Raw has always put down Smackdown! in an “inferior” role. (True and not true, depending on the year.) Shane says that notion was more prevalent last night when Daniel was assaulted by Kane on Raw.

McMahon then names himself Captain of Smackdown’s team at Survivor Series! He then moves on to the action for tonight!

Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler make their entrances for their bout, up next!

Commercials.

Match #1: Two-Out-Of-Three Falls, Single – Bobby Roode VS. Dolph Ziggler

(Note: Winner is placed on Team Smackdown for Survivor Series)

They go back-and-forth with light slams and hits to start. Both try their finishers but are blocked, and then Dolph rams his shoulders into Roode’s gut in the corner. Bobby fires back with a clothesline and rams Ziggler’s head off of the turnbuckle, and then double-boots him out of the corner. He leaps from the second turnbuckle with a neckbreaker for a near-fall! He then dumps Ziggler to the floor shortly after and reverses a whip, hurling Dolph into the barrier.

Roode chops and knees Ziggler on the outside and then rolls him back into the ring, but suddenly eats a Superkick as they both got back into the ring! Dolph falls on him for the 1 – 2 – 3!

Winner of Fall #1 via Pinfall: Dolph Ziggler

It is announced that we are now tied as Bobby got a fall with a sunset-flip out of the corner!

Winner of Fall #2 via Pinfall: Bobby Roode

Roode almost gets this with a powerslam and tries again for his finisher, but Ziggler reverses into a tie-up, which Bobby reverses into a sunset-flip for another two! Dolph plants Roode with his Jumping-DDT but only gets two! They battle for a bit again, and then Ziggler hops out of Bobby’s Glorious DDT and into his Zig-Zag reverse-flatliner/neckbreaker! 1 – 2 – Roode just lifts his shoulder!

Dolph “tunes up the band” like Shawn Michaels, but Roode moves out of the way and rolls him up; Ziggler turns the roll-up over, but Bobby reverses that and drives Dolph to the canvas with his Glorious DDT! He covers and receives the victory!

Winner of Final Fall via Pinfall and ADVANCING to Survivor Series: Bobby Roode

Post-match, Roode is interviewed by Rene Young; he puts over Smackdown! and who’s on the team for Survivor Series.

Later tonight, Shinsuke Nakamura and Kevin Owens will wrestle to determine another spot on Team Smackdown!, and A.J. Styles faces Samir Singh.

He then drops a splash on Rusev and tries his finisher, but Rusev slides out and kicks Big in the head. Rusev runs into a one-arm slam!
