Smackdown opens with the end of the main event of WresteMania where The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes defeated the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship.

Out to the arena first is the new WWE Undisputed Universal champion the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes. Cody says what The Rock gave him on Monday was something he had given The Rock. He said he was looking forward to see who he faces at Backlash and once again introduced himself as the once undesirable, then undeniable, and now WWE champion.

Solo Sikoa, Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman walked backstage and stopped at the locker room of Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens walked in front of them and said sorry you’re not invited there is a broom closet down the hall.

LA Knight VS. Bobby Lashley VS. Santos Escobar in a qualifying match to see who faces Cody Rhodes for the title.

Humberto and Angel came in to help Santos, The Street Profits came in to remove Angel and Humberto. But it was LA Knight who hit the BFT on Santos to get the win.

Winner: LA Knight

L.W.O. was then interviewed backstage by Kayla Braxton.

Paul Heyman, Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso come out to the ring and Paul says Roman Reigns said we must accept accountability. Solo stops Paul and says winning and losing matters so losing means we need change. Solo then walked over to Jimmy and hugged him and told him he is his brother and he loved him and recently signed Tama Tonga attacked Jimmy. Paul stands in the corner with his mouth open in disbelief. As Solo set up Jimmy with the Samoan Spike, Paul screamed no. But he hit him anyway.

As Solo and Tama hold up the number one sign, Paul tries to call Roman Reigns and Solo rips the phone out of Paul’s hand and smashes it. Tama went out and got a chair and Solo places it in the corner around Jimmy’s head and tells him again he loves him then runs and hits him with the hip.

Cameron Grimes VS. Bron Breakker

Grimes does not get any offense as Bron hits Grimes with a spear for the win.

AJ Styles talked about his match with Rey Mysterio and Kevin Owens tonight.

Out to the ring next is the new WWE Women’s Champion Bayley. After she thanked everyone, she welcomed a brand-new opportunity, and it took no time for Tiffany Stratton to come out and accept. Bayley said she had someone else in mind. She said she wants to defend against Naomi. Tiffany said Naomi she couldn’t win the title if it glowed in the dark and Naomi comes to the ring. Tiffany said she already beat Naomi. Naomi said she can’t accept her challenge just yet because she wants to take on Tiffany right here, right now.

Kayla Braxton is at the trainer’s door and Paul Heyman comes out and as Kayla asked him what happened out there and if Jimmy was ok, Tama Tonga came in and told Paul by orders of the Tribal Chief and Solo walked by and gave his thumb up and Paul said what does this mean.

Naomi VS. Tiffany Stratton

Naomi was able to counter Tiffany and rolled her up for the pin.

New Smackdown Tag Team Champions A-Town Down Under were shown bragging about their win at WrestleMania.

New Catch Republic, Nick Aldis and the Street Profits were shown watching the video of A-Town Down Under and Aldis says we will find them an opponent next week.

Logan Paul was then shown bragging about winning at WrestleMania.

Chelsea Green & Piper Niven VS. Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair

Jade hit Jaded slam on Chelsea just like Monday Night on Raw and picked up the win.

Winners: Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair

Byron Saxton interviewed Kevin Owens about his match and Kevin took the microphone and started walking and took one of the new titles with the Detroit Tigers on it and carried it to the ring. Kevin said he and Rey both have sons who are much taller than them but his son is great and not a dirtbag like Dominik but that is not Rey’s fault, and he went on to say he has respect for both Rey and his other opponent tonight AJ Styles but winning the title is the most important thing, so he must beat them both tonight.

Kevin Owens VS. Rey Mysterio VS. AJ Styles with the winner facing LA Knight

AJ hits Styles Clash on Rey on top of a falling Kevin Owens and he then rolled through and pinned Rey.

Winner: AJ Styles

After the match LA Knight comes out and he and AJ exchange words.
