Smackdown TV report for 04/28/2023

Triple H is introduced first to welcome everyone to Smackdown and the 2023 Draft. Every superstar on Raw and Smackdown are eligible for the draft and 50% will be drafted tonight and the other 50% will be drafted Monday Night on Raw. Also select superstars from NXT are also available to be selected to Raw or Smackdown. The new official roster will be in effect on May 8th.

First pick goes to Smackdown with Paul Heyman, Solo Sikoa and the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns. This means the New WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be exclusive to Monday Night Raw.

Raw picks the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes.

Smackdown selects the EST of WWE the Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair

Raw picks “The Man” Becky Lynch

Triple H then introduces The Usos. They say they are going to win the tag team championships back tonight in the WrestleMania rematch. This leads to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn coming out from the back. After The Usos dedicate the match to Roman Reigns, Sami pointed out that Roman and Solo and Paul were drafted to Smackdown without them and Roman hasn’t called them since WrestleMania. Jey then said they will lose, and Kevin is going to turn on Sami and Kevin says he is tired of hearing all that crap he is only concerned with winning and keeping the titles tonight.

Butch VS. L.A. Knight

Knight hit his finisher to get the win.

Winner: L.A. Knight

The Usos are discussing their match tonight. Paul Heyman and Solo come in and try to pep up the Usos and says tonight is the night and looks at Solo as Solo tightens his tape.

Rob Van Dam and Michael “P.S.” Hayes are shown holding cards and are announced as special presenters of the next draft picks.

Smackdown selects the Street Profits

Raw selects Imperium

Smackdown selects the Rated R Superstar Edge

Raw selects Matt Riddle

The Street Profits VS. Ricochet & Braun Strowman VS. Cruz Del Toro & Juaquin Wilde

Ford pins Ricochet after a blind tag and a powerslam from Dawkins.

Winners: The Street Profits

Teddy Long and JBL will be announcing round 3 of the draft.

Smackdown selects Bobby Lashley

Raw selects Drew McIntyre

Smackdown selects the O.C – A. J. Styles, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and Mia Yim

Raw selects The Miz

Zelina Vega VS. Sonya Deville

Zelina surprises Deville with a roll up for the win.

Winner: Zelina Vega

After the match, Rhea attacks and as she goes for a riptide Vega counters and hits a DDT and gets out of the ring.

Santos Escobar and Rey Mysterio congratulate Zelina Vega on her win and encourage her for her match against Rhea Ripley at Backlash.

The O.C. comes to the ring. Before A.J. could say anything, the Viking Raiders come out. A.J. said I will make it easy for you I will go over to this turnbuckle and O.C. handle your business. Gallows and Anderson hit the Magic Killer on Erik and A.J. says they are just getting started. A.J. then gave Ivar a phenomenal forearm.

Shawn Michaels and the Road Dogg will be announcing the next and final round of tonight’s draft picks.

Smackdown selects Bayley, Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky

Raw selects Shinsuke Nakamura

Smackdown selects the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn

Raw selects the NXT Women’s Champion Indie Hartwell

Kayla Braxton was interviewing Shinsuke Nakamura on how he feels about his move to Raw and before Shinsuke could say much he was attacked by Karrion Kross.

Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn VS. The Usos *For the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship

During the match we see Paul Heyman on the phone and then tells Solo tonight is your night.

As Solo heads to the ring, Matt Riddle stops him, and they fight to the back. Sami pulls Jey out of the ring and slams him into the ring steps, Owens hits Jimmy with the Stunner then tags Sami and Sami hits the Helluva Kick for the win.
