The main event at the NXT live event in Melbourne, Australia had a bit of a hiccup as the cage that was suspended above the ring initially failed to come down.
The cage match featured Shinsuke Nakamura taking on Samoa Joe and the match was taped for next week’s NXT television show on the WWE Network. It took around five minutes for the cage to eventually make it down to the ringside area with the usual WWE “cage lowering” music on loop as technicians figured out why the steel structure got stuck.
From photos posted online, the cage was not coming down straight and it was tipping over a bit to the side. The fans in attendance chanted “botchamania” and then roared when the structure finally started its descent.
