Steel cage match for Universal title on Christmas Day Smackdown on FOX

A huge TLC rematch for this Friday’s Christmas Day episode of Smackdown has been announced.

The Universal champion Roman Reigns will be defending his title against Kevin Owens again but this time it will be inside a steel cage match. Owens came mighty close to get the Universal title yesterday but constant interference from Jey Uso proved to be a bit too much for the former champ.

“Thank you all,” Owens wrote on Twitter after last night’s TLC with his match against Roman Reigns was universally praised. Reigns cheekily responded to Owens’ tweet, writing, “Our pleasure.”

Smackdown will not air live on Christmas Day but is being taped tomorrow. The show returns on FOX after last week it aired on FS1 due to college football.
