Sting to undergo neck surgery for injury suffered at Night of Champions

Former WCW champion Sting has revealed that he will be needing neck surgery to repair the damage he sustained at the Night of Champions pay-per-view in the match against Seth Rollins. Sting made the announcement on Ric Flair’s WOOOOO! Nation podcast.

Sting said that his surgery will be similar to the one John Cena received in 2008 and is hoping that he would not need the more serious neck fusion surgery. Sting added that he’s suffering from cervical spinal stenosis, with an area in his neck which holds the spinal cord “choked off” at two different locations.”

Flair asked Sting if there’s one more match left in him and Sting said that while the surgery will put him on the shelf for a bit, “absolutely” there is another match.
