Stone Cold Steve Austin returns to the ring, headlines WrestleMania Saturday

Stone Cold Steve Austin rolled back the years last night at WrestleMania and wrestled his first match in 19 years, headlining night one of WrestleMania 38 with Kevin Owens.

Arguably the biggest pop of the night, over 70,000 fans welcomed back the Rattlesnake who came out in his trademark Austin 3:16 shirts, jeans shorts, taped wrists, and knee braces. That alone was supposed to be a giveaway of what was coming next.

Owens told Austin he tricked him into inviting him for the KO Show because in reality, he wanted to kick his ass in a no holds barred match. Austin asked the crowd to give him a “Hell Yeah!” if they wanted to see him in a match and the fans rattled the AT&T Stadium with two thunderous “Hell Yeah’s”

With the referee in place and the bell rang, KO and Stone Cold brawled all over the place including in the stands, where Austin took a suplex on the concrete floor. It wasn’t the old Stone Cold for obvious reasons but the man looked like he was enjoying the spotlight one more time.

Kicking out of his own Stunner after Owens hit him with one, Austin regained control, drank a lot of beer, and eventually finished the French Canadian with a Stunner of his own. Three seconds later and Austin was declared the winner of the WrestleMania Saturday main event.

After the match, Austin thanked the crowd, hit another Stunner on Owens who was then escorted out by police, celebrated with his brother in the ring, and then invited Byron Saxton in the ring for a beer…and a Stunner.
