WWE’s announcement about The Undertaker headlining the Hall of Fame class of 2022 was obviously welcomed by fans, critics, and Superstars.
A locker room leader for the majority of his 30-year career in WWE, The Undertaker received many congratulations from his peers.
“Congratulations to @undertaker on his induction into the #wwehof! No one, and I mean NO ONE, deserves it more. The Undertaker is truly iconic and transcends @WWE. The man behind the character is just as impressive! I am absolutely thrilled! CONGRATULATIONS,” wrote Glenn “Kane” Jacobs, who portrayed his on-screen brother during the glory days of WWE.
“Absolutely no one has had as big an effect over as long of a career as @Undertaker,” wrote Triple H. “He is the measuring stick of this industry, in and out of the ring, and now takes his well-deserved place in the #WWEHOF!”
The man that Taker retired, Shawn Michaels, said he had the pleasure, and often times pain, of being in the ring with him. “I count him among the absolute best and someone I consider a close friend. Congratulations and welcome to the #WWEHOF club,” he said.
Ric Flair credits The Undertaker for helping him with his confidence issues when he asked to wrestle him at WrestleMania. “Congratulations @undertaker! This is as big as the day that Stone Cold @steveaustinBSR went in! Thanks for all that you’ve done for the business & for me personally! WrestleMania 38 bets bigger every day! WOOOOO!,” the Nature Boy wrote.
AJ Styles has the privilege to say that he was The Undertaker’s last opponent. “No one like him. He is truly a PHENOM in every sense of the word,” Styles wrote. “A Hall of Fame career earned over 30 years of hard work and dedication in @WWE. Congratulations, Taker.”
John “Bradshaw” Layfield had many battles with the Dead Man and described him as “the best I was ever in the ring with and a pure class act,” adding that it’s not a Hall of Fame without the Undertaker in it.
“I knew the first time I ever met the @undertaker in the ring that he was destined for greatness,” added Jerry Lawler. “It’s been great to be along to watch your ride!! Congratulations my friend…”
Kurt Angle described The Undertaker as the godfather of pro wrestling. “Nobody deserves it more than you my friend,” he wrote.
WWE Hall Of Famer herself Trish Stratus said she was captivated by his awe-inspiring entrances when she was a kid. “A legend. An icon. There will NEVER be another so impactful. Thank you @undertaker,” Trish tweeted.
