Hey everybody!! It’s @TheMagnumDA here with another edition of the pick’em report. Tonight, for the third time ever, we have WAR GAMES as the feature match headlining the 38th annual Survivor Series!! Truly, it will be teams of five that will strive to survive. As for the pick’em? It’s yours truly going up against the WOPC Champion Colin Vassallo!! Who will come out on top? Let’s find out.
ON WITH THE PICKS!!!
Triple Threat – WWE Intercontinental Title
Bron Breakker (c) vs. Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser
Magnum: I would love to see Sheamus finally get his chance to become the Intercontinental Champion, but I think the story will be Kaiser preventing that from happening. In all of the hullabaloo, Bron‘s going to catch one of these guys with a 20 mph Spear, and will retain the IC Title.
Colin: This should be a great match. All three can work, and all three can hit hard. They should let Breakker continue with his title run because it’s too early to take it off from him. Sheamus doesn’t need it and while it would help Kaiser, Breakker needs it more. Bron wins.
WWE United States Title
LA Knight (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Magnum: So this is where I’m inclined to believe a major shocking upset will happen. Shinsuka can’t come back just to lose, and he loses all threatening aura if he comes up short here, or if they wait until Saturday Night’s Main Event to pull the trigger. That is not the way to go. It happens tonight. Shinsuke once again wins the United States Championship.
Colin: Considering how over LA Knight is, his title run has not been anything special. It’s actually quite a disappointment for me. It has not clicked at all. If they want to make something out of Nakamura, they have to give him the win tonight, otherwise, his return will go down with the rest of his returns. Nakamura is a fantastic wrestler and deserves a title run, no matter which one it is. Nakamura wins, #ANDNEW.
World Heavyweight Championship
Gunther (c) vs. Damian Priest
Magnum: I get the “Gunther being vulnerable” mindset after losing at Crown Jewel, but they’ve taken that angle about as far as they could go. Gunther is going into WrestleMania as World Heavyweight Champion, and this match simply closes the chapter on the man who walked out of this year’s Mania as WHC. I’ll take Gunther to retain.
Colin: I don’t know why they, all of a sudden, have been presenting Gunther like that on television. There was really nothing extraordinary to have Gunther “lose his confidence” or whatever. I can’t see Priest winning the belt anytime soon and I can’t see Gunther dropping it anytime soon so the pick here is pretty clear, Gunther wins.
Women’s WarGames
Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Naomi, Iyo Sky, and Bayley vs. The Judgment Day (Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez), Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, and Candice LeRae
Magnum: This is really challenging – I want to pick the team led by Judgment Day, but I’m inclined to think that they will split victories between the heels and babyfaces. Having said that, I will take Team Ripley to win the match. I think that we will see something extraordinary to win the match – maybe a KOD on Nia Jax? What an unbelievable sight that would be!
Colin: This feels like it was thrown together just so they can have a women’s WarGames match. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for it, but it did no come naturally like the Bloodline match did. It’s a good way to get all these different women on the card though especially since it’s the only women’s match. I am picking Ripley’s team to get the W.
Bonus #1 – Who will get the winning fall?
Magnum: Let’s stick with what was discussed above – Bianca Belair!
Colin: Rhea Ripley
Bonus #2 – Who will take the pin/submission?
Magnum: Nia Jax
Colin: Candice LeRae
Bonus #3 – Will a cash-in happen in this match?
Magnum: HELL YEAH, why not?!!
Colin: No
Men’s WarGames
Roman Reigns, The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso), Sami Zayn, and CM Punk (with Paul Heyman) vs. The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa) and Bronson Reed
Magnum: Here we go. The build for this match really ramped up over the last few weeks with the re-emergence of Punk and Paul Heyman. It pretty much mirrors what happened with Randy Orton last year. I think that’s where the similarities end, though. I don’t think this will have the fairytale ending that happened last year. I am inclined to believe that the new Bloodline needs some credibility to keep moving – to achieve that, they’ll get the win here. Whether it’s Punk walking out, Rock showing up, or Seth/KO/Cody getting involved, something is going to happen that screws the original Bloodline out of a victory. Give me The New Bloodline to win this match.
Colin: This is going to be interesting. I’m totally expecting someone to flip. Sami? Heyman? Punk? One of them. Reigns will feel the wrath of one of his team mates by the end of the night. Heyman looked shady AF since returning and my pick is on him. For this to continue, I think the New Bloodline has to get to win. It’s going to be a great match regardless, and maybe The Rock will also show up!
Bonus #1 – Who will get the winning fall?
Magnum: Solo Sikoa
Colin: Solo Sikoa will get the win.
Bonus #2 – Who will take the pin/submission?
Magnum: Jimmy Uso
Colin: Sami Zayn
