Tamina wins her first gold in WWE after 11 years

Tamina Snuka, who has been working for WWE since 2010, finally got her hands on her first title with the company, 11 years after signing a deal with the company.

The 43-year-old teamed with Natalya to dethrone the WWE Women’s Tag Team champions Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax last night on Smackdown on FOX. The ending came as Jax hit a Samoan Drop on Natalya but before Jax managed to get up, Tamina hit her with a Superfly Splash.

Both Tamina and Natalya were emotional in their post-match in-ring interview with Kayla Braxton. Natalya said that tonight was for those who had a dream and thought that their dream has passed them by. Tamina thanked the WWE fans, her family, and Natalya for believing in her.

Tamina was a surprise favorite at WrestleMania, with fans inside the Raymond James Stadium firmly behind the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka during the tag team title match.
