WWE loves The Weeknd! For the first time ever, a song from the same artist has been chosen as the theme song for WrestleMania for the third consecutive year.
At WrestleMania 36, The Weeknd song Blinding Lights was selected as the theme for coronavirus-hit WrestleMania. That was the first – and so far – only taped WrestleMania to be held in an empty arena at the WWE Performance Center.
Blinding Lights was the second single from his fourth studio album, After Hours, and was released in December 2020. The song ranked #1 in multiple countries and remains a big hit.
A year later, his song Save Your Tears was selected as the theme of WrestleMania 37 live from Tampa. This was the first WWE event in front of an audience in 13 months.
Save Your Tears is a song also from his fourth studio album, After Hours, and was released in November 2020. The song ranked #1 in multiple countries and just like Blinding Lights, remains very popular as well.
The theme song for WrestleMania 38 is called Sacrifice. Sacrifice is the second single from his fifth studio album titled Dawn FM. It was released in the United States in January 2022 and hit #11 in the Billboard Top 100 chart.
Maybe The Weeknd is available for next year’s WrestleMania in LA as well!
