Thunderstorms delay WrestleMania night one start by 35 minutes

It had to happen one day and after running their luck forever, the weather finally caught up with WWE during an open-air WrestleMania.

Fans were told to seek shelter as a thunderstorm came over the Raymond James Stadium before the show and while there was an 8PM kickoff with America The Beautiful starting promptly, the show was delayed immediately after the cold open.

There was no pyro and no wide shots of fans in the building after the cold open finished with Michael Cole, Bryon Saxton, and Samoa Joe welcoming viewers at home by saying that there is a delay for the safety of their fans and Superstars.

To kill time, several WWE interviews took place backstage and you could tell that everyone was shooting from the hip, a clear change from the usual scripted interviews.

After a 35-minute delay, Titus O’Neil and Hulk Hogan kicked off the show.
