Toni Storm quit WWE and went home after triple threat match in Washington

Toni Storm’s sudden departure from WWE yesterday took fans – and those within the company as well – by surprise but unlike previous cuts, this time around it was Storm who pretty much quit.

PWInsider.com reports that Storm decided to call it quits after working a triple threat match with Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks in Washington, DC, and then paid out of her own pocket to fly out home from Baltimore. She requested her release and got it immediately yesterday.

According to PWI, the WWE internal announcement did not list Storm as being released due to budget cuts.

The 26-year-old has not commented publicly on why she decided to leave the promotion but lately talked about being called up to the main roster and spending her time in catering rather than working in the ring because they didn’t know what to do with her.
