It appears that this season of Total Bellas is going to be as jam-packed with drama as the previous three.
This is due, in large part, to Nikki Bella’s tumultuous and very public breakup with John Cena at the end of the last season. Even though the breakup was at Nikki’s behest, it seems that, like the old song says, “breaking up is hard to do”.
So, rather than seeking the help of a licensed counselor Nikki is, “doing my own version of therapy”. Apparently, therapy Nikki style includes test driving Ferraris, buying huge beach houses, and joining friends at a cigar bar. Furthermore, Nikki is causing both her mother, Kathy, and her sister, Brie, tremendous angst by having tremendous block parties for a bunch of her brand new neighbors.
Personally, I think that Nicole’s family have a right to be concerned. For one thing, Nicole doesn’t know any of her new neighbors very well, and for another, her new beach house sits directly on the water and due to Nicole’s celebrity status people are going to want to have access to her house and could easily do so because of its open floor plan. However, I don’t think that Kathy’s idea of bringing Nikki a large bag of self-defense equipment, including a glitter stun gun will help Nicole experience her newfound freedom and the best way. Also, it was news to me that John was so strict about not allowing his girlfriend to participate in certain activities, but I guess we really don’t know what goes on behind closed doors.
Meanwhile, Brie was dealing with her own drama while dealing with Nikki’s.
Due to the first-ever all women’s pay-per-view, Evolution, the Bella Twins have begun practicing to make a huge wrestling comeback. Therefore, Brie and Nikki both have to be on episodes of both Smackdown and Raw in the weeks leading up to the pay-per-view. Also, because Brie’s husband Daniel Bryan has made his triumphant return to wrestling, it looks as though their daughter, Birdie may often be left in the care of babysitters.
Both Brie and Daniel worried about the psychological toll that this might take on their young daughter, so they hired a child development specialist to assess the situation. However, the child development specialist only confirmed my suspicions that leaving Birdie is harder on her parents than it is on her. I guess that Brie and Bryan’s new parent jitters create even more exciting drama for fans of Total Bellas.
