Total Bellas S5 E3 episode recap: Bellas Without Borders

390

In this episode of Total Bellas, the family drama continues, as Brie and Nikki decided to visit their father’s family where he lived on the border of California and Mexico.

Due to the twin’s turbulent relationship with their father, they had never visited their father’s home. Furthermore, they had not seen their half siblings, Alexia and Ezekiel. In fact, they hadn’t even met Ezekiel, who is only four. In typical Bella fashion, Nikki and Brie brought dozens of gifts for the kids. I thought this seemed like a bribe. In order to make the kids like them, Nikki and Brie brought presents. However, the best present they could give came for eleven year old Alexia.

Apparently, Alexia is extremely proud of her famous sisters. However, due to the family strife, her sisters hadn’t been to visit, so no one believed her and their father asked Nikki and Brie to go to their sister’s school. When Nikki went to the school she announced her kinship to Alexia.

While the twins had a good time on their trip, not everyone was happy about the trip. The twins had invited their mother, Cathy, to come on the trip in order to babysit Brie’s daughter, Birdie.

Cathy has recently been upset by her daughters’ renewed relationship with their father. During the girl’s childhoods, their father had addiction issues. These issues naturally caused marital problem for them. The kids were also exposed to lots of fights. Also, Nikki claims that her issues with men stem from watching her mom appear to be stuck in a marriage which she didn’t want be in. So, it comes as no surprise that when her kids came home discussing the great time that they had with their dad, Cathy, responded with extremely jealous and angry words.

However, in the end, Cathy, had a heart-to-heart with her kids in order to make amends for her past actions. While this drama may be at an end, there is still much more to come later this season.
