Triple H discusses NXT on USA expectations and UK talent crossing over

Speaking to the wrestling media ahead of tonight’s NXT debut on USA Network, Triple H discussed what will make him happy in terms of viewership once the numbers come in.

He said that he’s not necessarily looking at the numbers but he’s rather interested in the long haul what it does. Triple H said that this is about building another brand, another franchise, and it took them two years to get to USA Network and now is the right time for them to be on a bigger platform. He wants to see a great show week in, week out, building on each other. “I will be happy if the show is great and if talent has great performances,” he said.

The only time that NXT aired on USA Network was two years ago in December as part of WWE Week during the Christmas period and that night the show did just over 800,000 viewers. Triple H said that the brand has changed since then and that show had zero promotion so this time is different. “I will be happy if we did more than last time,” Triple H quipped.

HHH also discussed NXT UK talent crossing the pond to appear on NXT. Triple H explained that several UK talent will help raise awareness of NXT UK by coming over from time to time for a storyline and then heading back to the UK to continue their work there. He specifically mentioned Walter, Tyler Bate, Toni Storm, and Piper Niven.
