Two new champions crowned at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4

Two new champions were crowned at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4 yesterday with Ricochet becoming the North American champion and Kairi Sane winning the Women’s title.

It only took eight months for the high-flying Ricochet to get his first singles NXT title. Having joined the company in late January of this year, the expectations were high for the 29-year-old Kentucky native. Every single match he has been a part of did not disappoint and usually he steals the show with his death-defying acrobatic moves. Ricochet is now the second North American champion following the introduction of the title at NXT Takeover: New Orleans.

For Kairi Sane, her journey to a title took a bit longer. Having made her WWE debut in mid-2016, the Japanese Superstar first won the Mae Young Classic but had to wait another year to get her hands on the NXT gold. This was her second NXT Women’s title shot after she was part of the fatal 4-way match to determine the new champion at NXT TakeOver: WarGames, a match which was won by Ember Moon. Sane was very emotional after winning the title from Baszler last night and she is now the second Japanese star to hold the title after Asuka.
