Vince McMahon to open live Smackdown at the ThunderDome tonight on FOX

The boss is coming to Smackdown tonight to kick off the new WWE ThunderDome experience at the Amway Center, the adopted home of WWE for the next two-and-a-half months.

WWE’s social media today announced that WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon will open the live Smackdown in a few hours, welcoming everyone to the new way of watching WWE on television. Vince has not appeared on TV since April when he came out to roast Triple H during the 25th anniversary special on Monday Night Raw.

The ThunderDome is expected to bring in some viewers back to WWE television after the product has suffered since moving its production to the very small WWE Performance Center in Orlando. And with SummerSlam just around the corner, it’s great news for fans to get their matchbook code to place any bets on the show.

There will be two title matches on the SummerSlam go-home episode of Smackdown tonight as AJ Styles will be defending his Intercontinental title against Jeff Hardy while Smackdown Tag Team champions Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro defend against The Lucha House Party. Another match, Big E vs Sheamus, was also announced.
