Wade Barrett signs contract extension with WWE

NXT color commentator Wade Barrett announced that he signed a new extension with WWE which will keep him at the NXT commentary booth for a couple of more years.

Barrett, who arrived in NXT in August 2020, told BT Sport that he agreed to a new deal last week. “I’m very happy to be staying around with WWE and continuing in my role in NXT,” the former Intercontinental champion said, adding that he’s the happiest he’s ever been right now.

Asked if we might see him back in the ring, Barrett said that in this business, you are never retired, loves his current gig, and has no itch he’s trying to scratch.

“But if the right opportunity presents itself at my door, then maybe we might see a Wade Barrett return to the ring one day,” Barrett said.
