Wayne Rooney gives a lot of media attention to WWE with Raw appearance

The segment with Wade Barrett and Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney got a lot of media attention in the United Kingdom, giving WWE some added free advertisement during news broadcasts.

British-based Sky Sports, Daily Mail, BBC Sport, The Telegraph, Talk Sport, ITV News, Metro, and others were joined by websites such as CBS Sports, NBC Sports, Washington Post, Goal.com, Fox Sports, and a ton of other sports sites who covered the altercation with King Barrett.

Barrett continued his trash talking on Twitter this morning when he did a tour of Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United. “I hope @WayneRooney has the guts to meet me there,” Barrett wrote after Raw. He posed for a photo in the locker room with Wayne Rooney’s shirt hanging behind him saying, “Hanging out in the Old Trafford changing room. Where’s @waynerooney at?”

Barrett also taped an interview for United’s MUTV which will air on Thursday at 6:30PM GMT.
