WrestleMania 29 special on NBC disappoints in viewer numbers

The WrestleMania 29 World Television Premiere special on NBC this past Saturday pulled in only 1.92 million viewers, down from the 2.73 million that last year’s special did.

It’s the second worst rating for the show since NBC started airing the special in 2009 with WrestleMania 25. WrestleMania 26 holds the worst viewership with just 1.78 million however that night NBC pre-empted the show in most markets.

The WrestleMania 25 special still has the record with 3.97 million viewers followed by WrestleMania 27 with 3.64, and then WrestleMania 28 with 2.73 million.

The WrestleMania 29 special represents a 48% drop from the WrestleMania 25 number.
