WWE announces the passing of SVP of Event Operations Ed Cohen

WWE has announced the passing of Senior Vice President of Event Operations, Ed Cohen.

A long-time employee of more than two decades, Cohen was the brains behind WWE’s touring, coming up with the schedule, booking the arenas and pretty much being the “fixer” for anything in relation to WWE tours. Cohen was also in charge of booking venues for WrestleMania until cities started bidding for the event and then a new position was created to handle special events. His role helped the WWE live event business to be one of the most important aspects financially for the company.

WWE Hall of Famer Mean Gene Okerlund broke the news about Cohen passing before WWE confirmed it on the website. Okerlund wrote that Cohen’s failing health became an issue over the past several years and started to get less involved in the process.
