WWE changes up broadcast teams for Raw and Smackdown

There will be no more Jerry “The King” Lawler on Monday Night Raw from next week as WWE has announced a change in their broadcast teams for Raw and Smackdown.

Starting on Monday, January 12, the trio of Michael Cole, John “Bradshaw” Layfield,” and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T will be handling the commentary for Raw. Smackdown on Thursdays will feature Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler at the broadcast table. Cole, Lawler, and JBL will continue to call the action for all the upcoming pay-per-views.

The change leaves no space for Tom Phillips, who was handling the main play-by-play for Smackdown. He was promoted to the show in August of last year after doing work for NXT and Main Event.
