WWE fires two NXT UK referees, suspends Joe Coffey due to allegations

WWE has fired two NXT UK referees and suspended another wrestler as more British personnel continue their downfall from the #SpeakingOut movement.

Referees Joel Allen and Chris Roberts were given the pink slip due to several allegations against them while Joe Coffey was suspended pending further investigations.

A conference call with NXT talent yesterday did not result in the shutdown of the brand, but rather a reminder of their responsibilities as WWE Superstars.

NXT UK, which has not taped new material since the pandemic started a few months ago, will be resuming television tapings once allowed. Several NXT UK stars posted on Twitter yesterday saying they cannot wait to get back in the ring.

The United Kingdom reopens most of its businesses this week which technically could allow NXT UK to resume tapings but many production people are still not allowed to travel from the United States.
