WWE signs new TV rights deal in Japan with ABEMA

WWE and Japan’s ABEMA have signed a new television broadcast rights deal for Monday Night Raw, Smackdown, NXT, and all premium live events starting in October.

Raw and Smackdown will broadcast free-to-air in Japan with Japanese commentary immediately following the U.S. broadcast. This will start with Raw on Tuesday, October 3 and every Tuesday night at 8PM and Smackdown on Saturday, October 7 and every Saturday night at 8PM. Both shows will be available to watch on-demand. NXT will air on ABEMA Video watch on-demand.

All WWE Premium Live Events will air exclusively live on ABEMA as well.

A show about the new broadcast deal will air this Friday on ABEMA and will feature The Great Muta.

WWE has not aired in Japan since 2021 when their agreement with J Sports ended. ABEMA launched in Japan in 2016 and is a free ad-supported streaming television network.
