WWE title to be defended inside the Elimination Chamber next month

The WWE championship will be defended inside the Elimination Chamber on pay-per-view next month, the final hurdle before earning a spot in the main event of WrestleMania.

The announcement was made by Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon yesterday at the beginning of the show. Six WWE Superstars, including the WWE champion, will be competing in the Elimination Chamber match. None of the participants were announced, and probably none of them will be until the Smackdown after the Royal Rumble.

AJ Styles will be defending the WWE title against John Cena at the Rumble and it’s probably a fair bet to say that both men – no matter who will be the champion at the end of the Rumble – will be in the Chamber match.

The Elimination Chamber takes place on February 12 at the Talking Stick Resort in Phoenix, Arizona.
