WWE to tape three weeks worth of NXT shows next week

Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer is reporting that WWE will be taping three episodes of NXT next week in a bid to cut costs on live production.

The post-Takeover 36 episode of NXT on USA Network will be filmed on Monday, August 23 and that episode airs on Tuesday, August 24. The August 31 and September 7 episodes will then be filmed on Tuesday, August 24.

If this is the way forward permanently remains to be seen but NXT being live doesn’t look like it’s on WWE’s future plans. Tonight’s episode, which will serve as the go-home broadcast for Takeover, will be airing live on USA Network.

The black and gold brand is going through some rough times at the moment as WWE is considering taking NXT back to its developmental roots.
