WWE’s return to Madison Square Garden postponed indefinitely after second cancellation

The planned WWE non-televised live event at Madison Square Garden was postponed for a second time and this time there’s no rescheduled date.

Originally, the show was set for March 22 with a DX reunion but then it was rescheduled to June 27. With no clear time table in sight over when sports and live events can return in front of an audience, WWE and MSG postponed the show indefinitely.

A statement issued from Madison Square Garden about the show read, “The WWE live event which was originally scheduled for Sunday, March 22 at Madison Square Garden, and previously rescheduled for Saturday, June 27, has been further postponed. Additional information will be made available in the near future. Original tickets will be honored for the new event date.”

New Japan Pro Wrestling is set to host a show at MSG in late August although that is unclear if it will go ahead as planned. New York is the state most effected by the coronavirus so it is highly unlikely that any mass events will take place over the next couple of months.
